Our Location

Gutin & Wolverton is located in Cocoa, Florida. This small city is located in Brevard County on the eastern side of Florida. It’s a part of the much larger Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville Metro Area, which means residents are near everything these larger cities have to offer. Of course, Cocoa itself has a lot to offer.

The History of Cocoa

Fishermen and their families first settled in the area in 1860, but it wasn’t until the 1880s that it truly became a town. A post office was established in 1881 or 82, and it was soon followed by a number of stores. In 1885, S. F. Travis Hardware opened, a store that is still in business today! It’s just a short 15 minute trip from our offices to the store and the center of the original settlement.

What started out as a small town soon grew in size. By 1940, there were more than 3,000 people living in Cocoa, but that was about to change. By 1960, the population had jumped to over 12,000. With Cape Canaveral’s opening and a boom in tourism, Cocoa grew again, crossing the 16,000 line by 1980.

Historical Sites

The downtown district is a historic neighborhood and contains many different historical buildings. Many visit Historic Cocoa Village, which now includes shopping and a number of excellent restaurants. The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse is also worth visiting. The historic village is located near S. F. Travis Hardware, so you can spend a full day visiting these sites and then enjoy a picnic at Cocoa Riverfront Park.

Other popular tourist sites include the Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science, the Florida Historical Society, and the Eastern Florida State College Planetarium and Observatory. Those who are interested in space may also want to visit the Space Coast Office of Tourism.

While you’re near our office, you can spend some time shopping at the Space Coast Frontenac Flea Market, which is just up N. Cocoa Boulevard. If you want to take in all the beauty and unique historical buildings, you can also drive down the Indian River Drive, a scenic bypass.

Finding Us

We’re located at 5190 North U.S. 1 in Cocoa near the beautiful Indian River. There are a few different ways to quickly find our office. Perhaps the easiest way is to simply take U.S. 1 to our office. This highway follows the Indian River from Titusville down to Melbourne and eventually Palm Bay.

Our office is conveniently located 3 minutes from the Brevard County Detention Center and the Brevard County Juvenile Detention Center. Our centrally located office in Cocoa, Florida, is only 15 minutes from the Titusville Courthouse and one hour from the courthouses in Daytona Beach and Orlando. We are 30 minutes from the Moore Justice Center in Viera, Florida, and 45 minutes from the Melbourne Courthouse.

Another option if you’re coming from the west is to take Highway 528 from Orlando to U.S. 1. Coming from Port Canaveral, you’ll take Highway A1A, which becomes 528. Another option is to take Interstate 95, which runs parallel to North U.S. 1. You can then take 528 east to U.S. 1 and south to Cocoa or take 520 east and then drive north up U.S. 1.
